Did you watch the Royal Wedding with us, as Meghan Markle lived out every little girls’ fantasy live on TV? It certainly lived up to all the hype and did not disappoint. Our hearts smiled as we witnessed the union of two people so in love along with thousands of others, and felt like we were part of such an intimate celebration. There were so many subtle details woven into their ceremony that truly focused on their love while honoring the formality of a royal affair.
We are still basking in the beauty of the whole event and love seeing new images brighten our feed these days. Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry showed the world that bringing romance and intimacy can exist even when your guest list surpasses 500. More importantly, their beautiful wedding showcased the importance of design, through the subtle incorporation of carefully thought out details.

Summer Romance
Now, getting back to the Royal Wedding – I am sure you’ve seen the photos by now and here are my favorite moments and details…
My favorite details included the demure, elegant gown Meghan chose which was so becoming and flattered her natural beauty; her chic chignon was perfect to show off the sparkly tiara on loan from the Queen. (Unique Bridal Style? Check!)
The florals were magnificent without taking away from the beauty of the chapel. It was so appropriate to be surrounded by white roses, which were Princess Diana’s favorite flower. Her bouquet was so understated yet meaningful – Prince Harry handpicked the flowers from the Princess’ garden at Kensington Palace just for Meghan. (Garden Florals? Check!)
I absolutely loved how the ceremony itself was such a solemn and intimate affair. Despite having 600 of their ‘closest friends’ attend, the program flowed nicely and featured a beautiful rendition of Stand By Me by a very stylish English Choir dressed in varying shades of blush and shimmer and a cello performance by a 19-year-old who played Ave Maria with so much heart. The new Duke and Duchess of Sussex exited the chapel to the tune of This Little Light of Mine as they beamed with joy.
It’s a true shame we could not witness the celebrations that followed, but we did get a sneak peek at the cake and were not disappointed. The couple opted for a trio of elderflower cakes frosted in natural buttercream and decorated with fresh summer flowers — delicately set atop golden cake stands from the royal collection. (Artisan Cake? Check!)
Meghan’s look for the evening reception was just as elegant as her wedding gown, with a touch more glamour. She wore a satin white gown with a halter neckline and kept her hair up in a slightly looser chignon. We hear that the first reception (with all 600 guests) was a standing cocktail reception and that the evening reception was a more formal affair. We love following a less structured flow like this for a relaxed wedding experience and are sure that every moment of their day lived up to the intimacy and romance of their wedding ceremony.
